Sr. System Engineer – Storage
Location: Ft Meade, MD
Salary: DOE
Clearance: Current Top Secret with Full Scope Poly (Required)

Assists in the design and implementation of integrated solutions for the Storage Infrastructure.

Provides third level support to SDG for the Storage, Backup and Data Management Infrastructure.

Works on projects as assigned; assists in supporting the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.

Seven or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or operating systems programming.

Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas.

Experience working with one or more structured programming languages.

Experience working with design principles and applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience with one or more of the following technologies: SAN & NAS based storage platforms, SAN fabric, backup solutions, virtual tape library infrastructures, file and messaging archival, data de-duplication, disaster recovery solutions, capacity and performance management, and Microsoft Server OS.

Basic organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.

Basic communication skills to provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems.

Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to integrate hardware and software systems.

Immediate day shift position available. Currently shift work is not required.
